A little bit about us and what we do
We are a music academy catering to students of all ages and abilities. We offer tailor made professional music tuition and production services, comprising of individual and group lessons, parent & child lessons, band class, rhythm and songwriting workshops, music theory classes and grade examinations. All of our staff members have graduated with a degree in music, and have an average of 20 years experience in both music performance and teaching.
We host a spacious venue with a stage and large seating area available to accommodate intimate gigs and various other functions as required. Our Music Kiddie Parties cater for 10-15 children. We also use this area to showcase the talents of our students, with performances throughout the year.
The Music Factory is located in the heart of Midleton town, in the Market Green Complex. Midleton is 16 km east of Cork City via the N25 and is also accesible by both bus and rail. There is free parking available in the complex and we are a stone's throw from shops and cafés in the area and a short walk from the Midleton Farmers' Market which takes place on Saturdays in the park next to SuperValu.
We like to host lots of different events here at The Music Factory. We run music camps throughout the year and we like to host special performances by our students as often as we can. Check out our Facebook page to see the latest in upcoming events.

Lessons, Masterclasses, Workshops and Kid's Music Parties
We hold individual, group and parent and child lessons. We also teach master classes, and hold creative workshops in both rhythm and songwriting.

James is the founding director of The Music Factory. He has a B.A. (Hon’s) degree in Popular Music from The Cork School of Music CIT. He teaches Voice Coaching, Guitar, Ukulele, Music Theory and Band Class here at The Music Factory. He has over 20 years of experience in the music industry in both live performance and teaching. James has residences at many venues including the Meeting place, Wallis Bar and the The Anchor Bar. He also hosts Open Mic nights and is bandleader with ‘The Greatest Hits’. James recorded an album in 1995, entitled ‘Time will tell’. His achievments also include winning East Cork musician of the year in 1999.
Alan has a B.A. (Hon’s) degree in Popular Music from The Cork School of Music CIT. He is a senior bass guitar instructor and also teaches keyboard and piano, guitar, ukulele, music theory and band class. He has over 20 years of experience in the music industry in both live performance and teaching, and is a member of several bands including 'The Aristocrats', 'The Bentley Boys' and 'The Greatest Hits'.
Johnny has a B.A. (Hon’s) degree in Popular Music from The Cork School of Music CIT. He is a senior guitar instructor and also teaches bass guitar, ukulele, and keys. He has over 20 years of experience in the music industry in both live performance and teaching. Johnny's achievments include winning the award for the highest student grades achieved two years in a row while studying as an undergraduate at the Cork School of Music. He is a member of the band 'The Greatest Hits'.
Cian has a B.A. (Hon’s) degree in Popular Music from The Cork School of Music CIT. He has over 15 years of experience in the music industry in both live performance and teaching. Cian's achievments include being selected by Ireland's finest musical directors to perform in a live Irish Music & Dance Show in Disney World, Orlando Florida. Cian plays with Finbarr Wright, 'The Jon Bon Jovi Story', 'Red Effect' and 'The Greatest Hits'.
The Greatest Hits
Kala has a B.A. (Hon’s) degree in Popular Music. She teaches Voice Coaching and Ukulele, here at The Music Factory. She has over 15 years of experience in the music industry in both live performance and teaching. Kala is also a voice coach at Voiceworks Studio, Cork. Kala has a weekly residency with her group ‘Kala & the TopMen‘ in The Oliver Plunkett Bar every Saturday from 6-8pm.

What we offer
Our spacious venue area comprises of a stage with full lighting and sound and a large seating area.
We can host an audience of up to 120 guests, ideal for intimate gigs. It is also a great space to accomodate club or society meetings. A large mirror paneled wall makes this space well suited to hold various classes.
Our popular Musical Birthday Parties are enjoyed by children from the ages of 6 to 13, and we can entertain 10-15 guests with musical games, a wide variety of musical instrument lessons and always finishing up with a fantastic group performance.
Free parking is available and our location is wheelchair accessible.
